Welcome to H-HERO (Humanitarian-Health Emergency Response Organization) We are a nonprofit organization dedicated to addressing the most pressing humanitarian and economic challenges in Afghanistan. Established with the vision of creating a resilient and equitable society, H-HERO focuses on empowering vulnerable populations, especially women and children, through innovative and sustainable programs in health, education, and emergency response. H-HERO is registered with the Ministry of Economy, Afghanistan, under Registration Number: 5647, dated September 29, 2022.
H-HERO was founded to bring transformative change to communities affected by crises and poverty. Guided by our core values of transparency, inclusivity, collaboration, and innovation, we have become a trusted leader in delivering life-changing interventions across Afghanistan. From promoting gender equality to responding to emergencies, H-HERO is at the forefront of creating lasting solutions for those in need.

To reduce the impact of economic and humanitarian crises on vulnerable populations by promoting health, education, resilience, and gender equality through strategic, collaborative, and innovative programming.
H-HERO has achieved significant milestones in addressing humanitarian challenges in Afghanistan: Empowered 170 women and 50 men through training programs and employment initiatives. Operated cost-effective projects with zero administrative expenses, ensuring all resources directly benefit the communities. Provided emergency response services, health care, and psychosocial support to thousands of individuals in need. First organization to secure women-focused program approvals post-Taliban ban on women in public roles.
1. Emergency Response We respond swiftly to crises with our HER-Teams (Humanitarian Emergency Response Teams): Disaster preparedness and relief. First aid training and psychosocial support. Coordination with local health providers. 2. Health and Wellbeing H-HERO strengthens healthcare systems by: Training healthcare workers on gender-sensitive service delivery. Operating health helplines for counseling and trauma care. Providing accessible healthcare services in underserved regions. 3. Women’s Empowerment We champion gender equality through: Training women in emergency response and economic initiatives. Providing small grants for women-led businesses. Establishing women-only marketplaces and cooperative networks. 4. Education and Skill Development We empower individuals through education: Offering online education for women and youth. Conducting vocational training to enhance employability. Promoting gender inclusivity in educational institutions. 5. Advocacy and Protection We advocate for the rights of women and children by: Conducting gender-sensitive community dialogues. Strengthening local organizations through partnerships. Preventing gender-based violence (GBV) through education and support.
Our operations extend across key provinces of Afghanistan, including Kabul, Kandahar, Herat, Mazar-i-Sharif (Balkh), Nangarhar, Kunduz, Ghazni, and Helmand, where we implement impactful initiatives aimed at supporting and empowering communities.
